Arity brings formatting, linting, and language server features to R without running an R session. Its formatter follows the tidyverse style guide and handles R code, roxygen comments, and DESCRIPTION files. The linter checks correctness, readability, and performance, with automatic fixes for many rules.

The language server provides completion, hover information, signature help, go-to-definition, references, and rename. Arity works from the command line and integrates with editors through the Language Server Protocol. Its VS Code extension also works in Positron, and its R package provides formatter bindings.
